Nima most recently was the Weekend Weather Anchor/News Reporter at KKTV, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Prior to KKTV, Nima worked at KQTV, St. Joseph, Missouri as Weekend Weather Anchor and News Reporter. Nima is a proud graduate of Park University, Parkville, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Communication and Journalism. Nima's leadership skills and community involvement have earned distinguished recognition with a Humanitarian Award from the Governor of Missouri. SHEBA CLARKE jumps 120 markets to accept a General Assignment Reporter position at YNN Rochester. YNN Rochester is a Time Warner Cable 24-hour news channel in Rochester, New York. Sheba joins YNN after serving as a freelance reporter at KCTV, Kansas City and a reporter/anchor at KQTV, St. Joseph, Missouri. Sheba is a proud graduate of Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Sheba was also an outstanding student athlete at Iowa State University. Her academic honors included being named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Iowa State Scholar-Athlete. Prior to WDBJ-TV, Hollani was the Weekend Anchor/Reporter/Producer at ABC affiliate, KTXS-TV, Abilene, Texas. Hollani's professional achievements and awards include: 2009 Poynter Institute - Leadership for TV News Anchors - week long seminar, 2008 NAACP Person of the Year in Media, 2008 Regional Emmy Award Winner for Best Weekend Newscast,  several Texas Associated Press Awards for Excellence in Spot News Coverage and Deadline Editing. MITCH WEBER will attend the Poynter Institute's '2009 Leadership for TV News Anchors', September 13th - 18th in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Mitch and other seminar participants will join veteran broadcaster Ted Koppel for a Poynter Community Conversation on Monday, September 14: "Journalism in Crisis: Who's to Blame?"  The week-long seminar will be lead by Poynter's Jill Geisler.  Mitch is looking forward to "Skills Without Script" where participants learn the skills the best anchors call upon when news breaks and they must guide viewers through a developing story.

Melanie has served as a news intern at NBC affiliate, KVOA-TV in Tucson, Arizona. Melanie also serves as Internet Services Assistant at the Big 12 Conference. Her responsibilities include producing daily and weekly internet video and written content for the conference's offical website, Big12sports.com. While attending the University of Arizona, Melanie was a four year Member of the University of Arizona Gymnastics Team. Lindsay comes to KSHB-TV from her role as Morning Anchor/Reporter at CBS affiliate, WIBW-TV, Topeka, Kansas and part-time freelance general assignment reporter at CBS affiliate, KCTV, Kansas City, Missouri. Prior to KCTV and WIBW, Lindsay was an Anchor/Reporter at KOMU-TV, Columbia, Missouri. Lindsay is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Journalism, emphasis in Broadcast News. Lindsay also received Minors in French and Business. Congratulations Lindsay!

Congratulations to JOHN PATRICK for earning 1st place honors in the 2009 Florida Associated Press Awards for Best Weathercast - Medium Market - WZVN "Morning Precision Forecast". John is a certified AMS and NWA Broadcast Meteorologist for WZVN and WBBH in Fort Myers, Naples and Punta Gorda, Florida. This is John's third straight year as a Finalist in the Florida AP Awards for Best Weathercast. In 2008 John received 1st place honors by the Florida AP Awards, Best Weathercast. In 2007 John received 2nd place honors by the Florida AP Awards, Best Weathercast. Prior to Fort Myers, John was a Broadcast Meteorologist at KNWA-TV, Fayetteville/Fort Smith, AR and WJAC-TV, Johnstown/Altoona, PA. John is a graduate of Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. John is also a graduate of the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University.  

Congratulations to ANTHONY POWELL for his promotion to 5:00pm Weekday Evening Anchor at NBC affiliate, KSNW-TV, Wichita, Kansas. Anthony will anchor the 5:00pm newscast and report during the day. Anthony has been the Weekend Anchor/Reporter at KSNW since September 2004.
Anthony has also reported several high profile local and national stories while at KSNW, including extensive coverage of the BTK Serial Killer story including arrest, courtroom appearances, guilty plea and sentencing in this high profile case. Anthony brings a wealth of experience to his new position. Anthony has worked as an Anchor/Reporter at KSHB-TV, Kansas City, KFOR-TV, Oklahoma City, KOAT-TV, Albuquerque, New Mexico and WSAV-TV, Savannah, Georgia. Congratulations to MITCH WEBER on his appointment to the Main Anchor position at NBC affiliate, KSNT-TV, Topeka, Kansas. This move is a homecoming of sorts for Mitch. Mitch was born and raised in Junction City, Kansas....which is in the Topeka, Kansas DMA. Mitch comes to KSNT from NBC affiliate, WGBA-TV, Green Bay, Wisconsin where he held the position of Weekend Anchor/Reporter. Prior to WGBA, Mitch worked as an Anchor/Reporter at ABC affiliate, WKOW-TV, Madison, Wisconsin, ABC affiliate, WAOW-TV, Wausau, Wisconsin and NBC affiliate, WJFW-TV, Rhinelander, Wisconsin. His first job out of college was Weekend Producer at CBS affiliate, KWCH-TV, Wichita, Kansas. Mitch received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas. Congratulations Mitch on this great opportunity at KSNT-TV, Topeka, Kansas.

Josie also worked as a Anchor/Reporter at NBC affiliate, WHIZ-TV, Zanesville, Ohio. Josie is a graduate of the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida with a Major in Mass Communications and a Minor in Political Science. Congratulations to Josie!

Congratulations to ANTHONY POWELL and his family on the birth of their son, Griffin Morgan Powell, born November 3, 2008 (one day before election day) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Griffin weighed in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 20 inches long. Griffin is at home now with Anthony, his Mom, Jennifer, and sister, Jaelynn. Congrats to the Powell Family!!!!

KRISTI CAPEL hosts the 2008 Miss UNICO Pageant. Kristi is the Morning/Noon Meteorologist for WBRE-TV and WYOU-TV in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. The pageant features representatives from more than 15 area high schools in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Kristi is no stranger to pageant events. Kristi won the title of Miss Missouri USA 2006 and represented Missouri at the 2006 Miss USA pageant. Kristi is a graduate of Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. Kristi worked as a Meteorologist at KSPR-TV in Springfield, Missouri prior to joining WBRE and WYOU. Congrats to Kristi for her selection as Host of the 2008 Miss UNICO Pageant, and congratulations to all the 2008 Miss UNICO contestants.

ARIKKA VON signs a new contract as Reporter, KSTU, Salt Lake City, Utah. Arikka received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Utah.

TIM TIALDO returns home to St. Louis to serve as Host/Reporter for Good Morning St. Louis at CBS affiliate, KMOX-TV, St. Louis. Tim goes to St. Louis from his previous job as an anchor/reporter at KYTV, Springfield, Missouri. Tim is a graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

KRISTI CAPEL moves to Morning Meteorologist for WBRE/WYOU, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA from weekend meteorologist at KSPR-TV, Springfield, Missouri. Kristi received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Evangel University, Springfield, Missouri. Kristi was also honored as MISS MISSOURI USA in 2006.

REGGIE KUMAR jumps over 90 markets to general assignment reporter, KTXL-TV, Fox 40, Sacramento, California from reporter at KPSP, Newschannel 2, Palm Springs, CA. Reggie received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Northridge, CA.
